Art in the Garden VII
Dates: July 19, 2008 to August 24, 2008 Time: Opening Reception July 19, 6-9pm Gallery Hours for the Show Run Tue - Sat 10am - 6pm Sun 12 - 5pm Location: 211 East First Street Description: Jeanine Taylor Folk Art celebrates another year of this crowd pleasing summer show. Long time event partner, Lisa and Eric Apen, owners of Apenberry's, will be in the midst of moving to their new College Park address and won't be able to host. "We are looking forward to bringing this popular show back home to Sanford. The gallery will be transformed into a magical garden filled with art, antiques and plants," explains owner Jeanine Taylor. "Apenberry's will be providing the plants so their presence will be evident." Another partner is Washburn Imports. "John Washburn is providing us with beautiful garden furniture to complete the atmosphere," Taylor adds. "North Georgia artist Mike Esslinger created a beautiful outdoor metal sculpture reminiscent of a bottle tree, which is an old southern tradition - this piece is a show stopper!" says Taylor. This "mixed bouquet" brings favorite folk art from all over the Deep South as well as some fresh new surprises. For six years, art collectors have flocked to this indoor, climate controlled art show with all the ambiance of an outdoor garden. This summer show will introduce the art of Tennessee artist, Nathaniel Mather. Other artists represented: John "Cornbread" Anderson, Theresa Disney, Lila Graves, Pat Juneau, Mary Klein, Mark Peyton, John Eiseman, Terrell Powell, Mary Proctor, Sarah Rakes, Jim Shores, Michael Banks, Mike Esslinger, Tres Taylor and Mary Jo Snell.
