About Linda Schapper:
Linda Schapper has put her hands to many media and dubs herself a liturgical artist, making tapestries, banners, and vestments for all denominations. One of her large scale pieces (55 feet) was the backdrop for the 1995 Pope’s mass in Central Park. Her work can be seen locally by visiting the Orange County court house where she has rendered the history of our region in 12 large fabric panels.
For a time, Linda lived in Lebanon and painted regularly until the brutality of civil war took its toll on her spirit and she gave up her brushes and canvas for a fifteen year period. In 1995, she got back to it, and has been painting full speed ever since. She has over 400 paintings in her home, often working on 12 to 20 large pieces around a central theme, many destined to hang in church buildings or sanctuaries.
In 1998, one of Linda’s paintings was selected as a UNICEF greeting card. These days, she finds time to write and has also illustrated several books, including eight on handicrafts. She is in the process of illustrating the life of St. Paul for an upcoming book.
