This Flag Won't Burn (Bronze)
Ab is extremely proud of his first bronze flag. This remarkable wall hanging was unveiled at the 2011 Folk Fest in Atlanta. The original was constructed of wood from a variety of sources, including a mule hitch with iron rings. You'll also see a well used paintbrush as well as salvaged parts from antique chairs.

About Ab the Flagman:
Ab Ivens is an American master whose work is in numerous publications, museums and major art collections including Microsoft, Atlanta's High Museum, the Mennello Museum of American Art in Orlando, numerous House of Blues venues, and the Orlando Shakespeare Theater. He has appeared in exhibits alongside the work of Peter Max, Andy Warhol and Robert Rauschenberg.
Ab's love for the American flag originated with his father's military funeral and the flag draping the coffin.
His smaller works include many American icons - New York cityscapes after 9/11, our country's presidents, wild life and blues musicians.
Ab is one of our 'green' artists using reclaimed, reconstructed wood and found objects. All these influences make his art highly collectable.
