Bits and Pieces by Trent Manning!

Join us for the opening reception this Saturday!

Opening reception and meet the artist: Saturday, 11/12 6-9pm

Show run: 11/12-12/21/22

Back by popular demand, self-taught artist and visual storyteller Trent Manning will bring his provocative sculptural menagerie to Jeanine Taylor Folk Art this Saturday! With a twist of irony, his child like figures suggest both whimsy and edginess. Industrial stony scrap metal is juxtaposed by warm butterscotch Bakelite relics in a masterful play on texture.

Join us for the opening reception of Bits & Pieces on Saturday, November 12th, 6-9pm.

“I think it’s very important to tell a story and to get an emotion.” Manning says, “Somebody else might paint flowers because it is therapeutic to them. It might be a pretty picture but I’m not really trying to comfort the viewer.” His still figures suspended in motion appear to be frozen in time, under a spell and on the verge of waking up. Manning is not averse to the hugging edge of the uncanny valley and raising the neck hairs of his viewers.

Art will be available for purchase on our website this Saturday afternoon.
