Crossroads Group Show on Display Until 4/17
Happy Spring in the South! We are opening our second show of 2021, At the Crossroads of Music and Art this Saturday evening from 6-8pm. The blues music of our region has a strong relationship with early and some contemporary folk art. Little or no training, using materials/instruments at hand or handmade often without regard to other artists. I reached out to artists I have worked with and knew their concepts and imagery included the early blues - LaVon Williams, Jr. and Lucy Hunnicutt. Bailey, my gallery manager and I improvised a bit by inviting three artists that are new to the gallery: Jon Napoles, Bob Tooke and Kreg Yingst. This band of artists brings an element of modernity, allowing the show to span from old school blues to its modern influences. I think you will agree the art harmonizes beautifully!
If you are able to visit the show in person, take advantage of QR codes placed beside each piece that lead the viewer to the music that inspired the art.
Please join us online or in person (Please wear your mask and keep your social distance from others). Our show runs 3/20 through 4/17 so there is plenty of time to avoid crowds.
Artfully,
Jeanine
