Florida Gothic Opens This Saturday
New opening reception date: This Saturday, 10/19 6-8PM
Join us for the long awaited opening reception of Florida Gothic this Saturday from 6-8pm. Guests are invited to enjoy a selection of seasonal homemade bites, live music, and a complimentary array of spirits all while viewing fresh art. Rick Kilby, Melissa Menzer, and Jon Napoles will be in attendance and eager to meet collectors.
There are two sides to every coin and the past few weeks have shown Florida’s unsavory side. This collection of art presents a visual guide to the trials and tribulations found around every corner in our beloved state as told by the artists who have lived it!
All art will be available for purchase in person Saturday, 10/19 at 6pm. Artwork will be available online this Saturday at 7:30pm.
Melissa Menzer's love for Old Florida shines in her painting of a serene egret gliding through a swamp and an alligator silently stalking from below.
Rick Kilby’s Roadside Attraction shows a tourist’s moment of leisure interrupted by a once inanimate T-rex come to life on a murderous rampage.
Alyne Harris, who’s known for her Florida landscapes, leans into her dark side with several scenes of graveyards and witches soaring on their brooms.
Jon Napoles provides us with a voyeuristic window peering into the private happenings of a wicked cast of characters in his Clandestine Series.
Kurt Zimmerman, a man who spent the latter years of his life on the shores of Florida’s Space Coast, painted as a means to quell the cosmic forces that lived within and provide a visual testament to the unbridled beauty that goes overlooked or forgotten.
